Do You Provide Tastings?

Yes. Our tastings are FREE for up to 6 people. a $90 to $200.00 value, for FREE. We must first have had a Consultation and a Quote sent to you. The tasting will be based off of that quote. You then taste what would be served at your wedding. We usually don't offer salads, bread and butter, fruit, cheese or other simple hors d' oeuvres unless by request.

Can you provide Dinnerware?

Our buffet meals include clear plastic plates, cutlery, glasses and nice paper napkins. We can upgrade to nicer disposable plates and cutlery for just $1.00 per person. We go through Party Pro for any rental needs, meet Karen at Party Pro, pick out what you want, we will rent it for you and you just pay their contract price.

How far will you travel to cater a wedding?

We will typically travel 80 miles or less from our kitchen in west Tulsa. ask us about your chosen venue.

Do you have a corkage fee?

No. Seriously? We would never charge to open and serve your wine.

Do you charge to cut and plate the wedding and grooms cakes?

No. Again, Seriously. We know some caterers might, we never have. Once your pictures are complete, step away and we will step in to cut and plate the wedding and grooms cake and place them on the table for your guests to come and get their cake and if appropriate, our servers can take cake to your guests also. This includes any additional sheet cake that may be available to cut and serve.

What is your cancellation policy?

 All of our deposits are non-refundable. All of our cancellation policies are clearly outlined in our contracts that you will get to review before ever booking a date with us. Depending upon how far out you cancel your event before the date, a sliding scale of fees will be assessed.

What happens if we need to reschedule our date?

We always do our best to work with clients who need to change their event date, whatever the reason may be. All deposits and payments that are made always transfer to the new date. However, we cannot guarantee that the original contract will remain the same. We address each date change on a case-by-case basis to make sure that everyone is well taken care of!

What happens after we book?

 After we receive your signed contract and deposit (and assuming you have already completed your tasting) you will not hear much from us until approximately six weeks prior to your event. Around six weeks before the event, your Karen and/or Chef Jerry will reach out to schedule your Final Details Meeting along with your coordinator. Your final details meeting typically occurs about four weeks before your event and this is where we ask you to make all final decisions, with the exception of your final count. We will ask for final decisions on things such as:
  •  Final Event Timeline 
  • Final Vendor List
  • Final selections on table linens and cloth napkin colors
  • Final Menu Revisions
  • Final floor plan of event (pending any final changes based on guest count)
  • Etc.

What Types Of Food Do You Prepare?

We make American Comfort Food, Italian, Chinese, Thai,  Mexican/TexMex, BBQ, French, German, Mediterranean, Moroccan, Swedish, Brazilian and much more. 

When should I reserve my wedding catering services?

Ideally, you should reserve your caterer 4-12 months prior to your wedding date. You will need to book your caterer earlier if your wedding is scheduled to take place during the spring or fall months as these times of year book-up quickly.

Are your menus flexible, can we customize them?

absolutely! we actually recommend it. we will start with menu ideas, then at your free consultation, we will find out what you really want. be as creative as you like.

Do you work with special dietary needs?

 Yes, and any professional caterer should. Apart from the wide variety of vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and other special dietary needs we offer, we’ll be happy to discuss and customize the menu to accommodate all of your guests. Please be sure you inform us of any food allergies well in advance–during the menu creation stage is best.

Are you licensed and insured to serve alcohol?

Yes. All of our bartenders have A.B.L.E. Commission licenses and Simply Amazing Wedding Catering carries $1,000,000.00 in liquor liability insurance, which will also cover the venue when they ask us to add them for your event. We are not licensed to provide alcohol, just serve it.

Who is our contact person for our wedding?

You will always be speaking with one of the owners, either Karen Wright or Chef Jerry Gardner. 

Can you assist with other aspects of the wedding like selecting other vendors?

We can most certainly give you contact information for wedding vendors we have worked with in the past, and trust the quality of work they do. Some are in our "Recommended Wedding Vendors" section of our website.

Do you automatically add a gratuity and if so, how much?

We do not add a gratuity. If you feel the service was "Simply Amazing", please by all means provide a gratuity. Our servers work hard and appreciate that acknowledgement.

How Much Does A Catering Cost?

Factors such as number of guests, type of food, style of service (which impacts the number of service staff), rental and more will affect the cost. Our typical cost for a Full Meal, which includes, Salad, Entree, Vegetables, Starch, Bread and Butter, Tea, Lemonade, Spa Water and Clear Plastic Disposable Dinnerware starts at $13.50/person up to $25.00/person. If you take advantage of some of our specials, appetizers for 100 can also be included in that price. Typical cost for FOOD, SERVERS, BARTENDERS and RENTAL can be about $23.00 per person and up.

What do you include in your wedding catering package?

We provide custom menu planning, servers for any style of service, chefs for carving or action stations, setup of guest tables, bridal and sweetheart tables, creating beautiful buffet displays for charcuteries or stations, setup of bars, bartenders, rentals such as linen, china, silverware, glassware, barware and even tents if you need them. We will then cleanup afterwards.

How many servers will be provided?

Normally, one server per to 12 people if your event will have a sit-down plated service. For family style, one server per 15 guests. For a buffet style set up, one server per 40 people when using disposable dinnerware and one server per 30 people when using real china. Nevertheless, we can reduce or increase the number of servers depending on how simple or complicated your event will be.

What do you charge for servers and bartenders?

The head server is $35.00/hour for a 6 hour minimum. Servers are $25.00/hour for a 4 hour minimum and bartenders are $35.00/hour typically for a 6 hour minimum.

When is the final count due?

The final count is due 14 days before the event. This count is considered a guarantee. When your party is booked, you will be provided with a contract with the final count date.

The venue does not have a kitchen. Can you cater my event?

All of our food is prepared in our commercial kitchen and transported to your venue. Most wedding venues have even a minimal kitchen for caterers to stage out of, that is really all we need.

What about leftovers?

If you want to take the leftovers with you, we will bring foil pans to put them in and make them available for you and whomever you wish to have the leftovers. Once the food has left the venue, we no longer take responsibility for it's freshness.
